About Marshall, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Parke County, Indiana, Marshall is a tiny town with only about 325 residents. This community was named after Mahlon W. Marshall, the original owner of the townsite, and its post office has been in operation since 1878. Marshall is located approximately 39 miles northeast of Terre Haute, Indiana, and it is found approximately 66 miles west of Indianapolis.

One of the most notable attractions in Marshall is the Turkey Run State Park. Activities include fishing, hiking trails, a nature center with a planetarium, playgrounds, and meeting and conference facilities. The park also hosts a variety of interesting festivals and events throughout the year, including the Pioneer Heritage Festival in August, an Earth Day Festival in May, and a Halloween Camping Weekend including a pet costume contest in October. Visitors to the park may first want to take a trip to Pearson Sport to load up on sporting goods and other outdoor recreation accessories.

The climate of Marshall makes it an especially good area to house such a popular state park, as the weather tends to be warmer than in other parts of the Midwest. Winters can be cool to cold, but average high temperatures are close to 40 degrees, even during January. However, since lows overnight do fall below the freezing point, residents will need to invest in a heat pump or home furnace in order to keep interior temperatures comfortable regardless of the weather.

Summers in Marshall tend to be hot and humid. High temperatures will reach the upper-80s, but muggy conditions can make it feel more like the 90s or even a heat index of 100. Most residents invest in central air conditioning units to keep their home interiors comfortable, and an energy-efficient unit can keep cooling costs low while improving indoor air quality. Marshall residents should have their appliances tested during the spring to make sure that they are ready to go when the hottest weather moves into the area.
